I'm conducting a detailed analysis of the Italian Search Fund market, compiling all available information, such as the number of active SFs currently seeking companies to acquire, the main investors in Italy (including institutional investors, family offices, and private individuals), the key legal firms setting up the majority of SFs, as well as essential market data (e.g., the number of SMEs with an EBITDA between $1M and $5M), and a list of all deals.
In recent months, I’ve done similar research on the Spanish, French, Brazilian, and Australian/New Zealand markets. Our goal is to replicate this effort for Italy, one of the fastest-growing markets in the European SF industry.
So far, we have identified:
• 14 active traditional SFs currently searching for acquisitions (and 5-6 in fundraising)
• 12 deals completed between 2019 and 2024
If any Italian professionals -whether searchers, investors, or advisors- would like to share insights on this market, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you in advance for your help. You can contact me at --@----.com
