From: Virginia Tech Richmond Center

Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) is often an overlooked option for today’s entrepreneurs. ETA can serve as a meaningful way to leverage your entrepreneurial spirit and capacity.

This virtual workshop — from 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 24 — is taught by Richard Hunt, assistant professor and director of doctoral studies in management in the Department of Management in the Pamplin College of Business, and will highlight the entrepreneurial aims and outcomes associated with ETA, how to get started, target firms/companies, and entrepreneurial financing options.

Upon completion, participants will have a beginning understanding of:

What is ETA?
Considerations when getting started
Target firm features
Submitting an offer
Negotiating with business owners
Financing ETA
Performing due diligence
Working with, through, and around business brokers
Thinking about the first year
