Spouse Funded Search?

Everyone is familiar with the term self funded search, but are there any spouse funded searchers our there? I'm on the cusp of resigning from my W-2 and starting my search (gulp!) while my wife's income will support the family.

Jesse when I started my search my wife was also working- and still does. We get our family health insurance from her employer, which is huge because my business doesn’t offer that benefit to any employees (including me) and it saves us a ton of money. My search took a year to get to closing the deal and it was really great to spend so much time with my kids and be able to do all the things I never had time for while working full time. As long as your wife is on board with ETA it’s a great thing.

I've had this conversation with my wife several times at various career junctions and in both directions. A couple thoughts to consider: what's your worst case scenario (e.g. 24 month search) and does she still support it if it plays out that way? What are trigger points for reconsidering, e.g. savings falls to X, and what happens then? Alignment now and discipline later can save some gnashing of teeth.
