I see a lot of sign manufacturing / installing / service businesses for sale. It appears to be a relatively fragmented market with a decent service component. 

Does anyone here have experience evaluating or operating a business in this space that can share some insights into what to look for or to look out for?

I see a lot of these sign manufacturing businesses for sale in my local market (Denver, CO). Does anyone know if there is a reason we are seeing so many small shops for sale in this space? Are these common in other markets?

I recently closed in this space, I went with a Fastsigns resale. You are correct, it is very fragmented, lots of players in a variety of sizes. And the products you can offer can vary widely as well. Lots of opportunity for growth, consolidation, etc.
