Hey everyone. My friend an I are thinking about starting an undergraduate ETA club at UC Berkeley that helps search funds find companies to acquire. We think that this will be a great opportunity for business students at our school to gain real experience in finance by creating financial models, doing valuation, and pitching middle market companies to entrepreneurs. On the contrary, search funds will have the opportunity to accelerate their search for a company. Is anyone interested in having an undergraduate club work for their search fund?

About a year from the search process so hit me up then, but more generally interns can be very helpful to the search fund model, but structure matters, having people who want to come in and learn everything in a couple of hours and only focus on the modeling/pitching part of the job won't work. As it turns out most of searching is sourcing i.e. finding contact information for and reaching out to companies and speaking with them, and that's where searchers will need the most help. So think about how you want to organize this in practice (feel free to dm me if you want to think through it more)
