Hello everyone! New to Searchfunder. Very cool platform so far! I'm curious about anyone that has searched specifically in single metro areas/regions. I'm located in Southern AZ- its a high growth area, but a smaller cousin to Phoenix nearby.

How have potential investors responded to a regional focus? I'm already in the region so I'm sure it would be easier to schedule in-person meetings, but beyond that in the diligence I'm not sure if it matters much

I'm sure this is highly variable, but how far is 'too far' to buy/run a business if you're already established in a home?

Hi Kyle, after working at a search fund, I've actually developed a platform that gives Searchers the tools they need to web scrape and find more deal flow with a hyper-granular geographic or regional focus.

We have a few more beta testing slots where you can test out the platform for free.

As a general matter, folks with a very narrow geographical focus tend to do a self funded search, The reason being that Institutional investors, on average, tend to partner with searchers that are industry focused, and are geographically agnostic. This gives searchers many more degrees of freedom to find their target.
