Does anyone have experience going from QB desktop to NetSuite? If so, I would love to hear feedback on the transition and what prompted the switch. We have used QB desktop for many years but as the business is becoming more complex it does not feel like a complete solution.

The transition to NetSuite was driven by desire to more automate accounting. QBO is a great product for most people but Netsuite is far more powerful in many areas - amortization and prepaid automation, custom reporting, role management, importing, custom fields, advanced workflows, and some others. At some point the automation will outweigh the (much greater) cost. We don't use any Netsuite modules (Revenue Recognition, Asset Management, etc.) but that is another major consideration. With the increased capability comes complexity and you definitely need to have a dedicated and capable accounting staff to make the transition work.
