Purchasing a CPA firm in New York/Tri-State area

Hello Searchfunders!

I am very new to this sphere and would like to pick your brains for some industry experience.

I am looking to purchase a CPA firm in New York/Tri-State area. For such a purchase, what are the critical points I must look out for to ensure I am getting a good deal?
What type of finance is available for a non-U.S citizen?
What does the usual timeframe look like, from finding a deal, to securing financing and eventually closing the deal?

something to be mindful of - majority acquirer must be a CPA in order to acquire an audit/attest practice. if you're looking at a tax/advisory focused firm, you are ok w/o a CPA, but attest requires CPA standing. best of luck!
