I'm curious to hear how others would approach running the business post acquisition? Assuming the business is somewhat profitable, do you hire a team of people to manage all aspects of the business? Would you ask your management team to provide daily, weekly or monthly reports to measure performance? What are the key performance indicators other than revenue that are critical to the success of the business?

I brought on board a very trusted General Manager as soon as I got back a signed LOI, and I only looked at businesses that would have the cash flow to support that. My thought was that bringing in a very capable person from the start to handle the tactical day-to-day would free me up to work on the business and not in it. This was a great decision. I am still there knee deep learning it all with him, but his job is non-stop. If I was doing that, and trying to work on higher-level initiatives, it would take much longer. This is all going to be dependent on the businesses, as some will have filled out management teams in place and some will not.

I'm always looking to help companies post-acquisition, especially when it comes to their website & online marketing. Having these types of elements (site analytics, social media, SEO, etc.) in a solid place, while monitoring the various KPIs therein, is a *must* in this day and age. The ROI is often quite strong and the mix helps to push growth. Happy to chat! https://www.allfantastic.com/
