What is important in an internship? Skills or brand? And what skill is the most salient to develop at the undergraduate level?

Personally, I feel like if you can write cogently and speak effectively - it'll really help you stand out from the pack. What do you guys think?

Hi Brad, I would frame it more as brand vs. experience. Overall, very few if any search fund internships are going to provide you with great brand value so you should focus on the experience it will provide you. In terms of the most important experience(s) or skills that depends on what career you will be pursuing post undergrad.

As an undergrad...effective communication is a great skill, but will not totally differentiate you. I recommend finding an internship or school club that lets you own a project and practice your leadership & influence skills.
