Interns for Operating Companies

I recently acquired an HVAC business and have been running it for about 2 months now. I am interested in bringing on an intern (MBA or other) for a summer and 6 months to help with strategic projects. I am curious if other people found intern helpful or a time drain once you are actually running the business?

I also have an additional target company that I might be interested in acquiring, but I am not ready to run it myself. Does anyone have experience bringing in a self funded searcher to run the business and incentivise him/her with traditional equity like terms?

Yes, however, I’d be sure they are an industry expert with at least five years experience.

I agree with this , intern doesn't have experience in the industry and it would make things worse in the business. You're better off looking at trade schools and or calling licensure boards to find an operator
