Interested in Speaking With Independent Sponsor Investors

Hi all- I am in (quite early) discussions with a manufacturing business that's doing somewhere in the range of $9M - $12M in EBITDA with a retiring owner. The owner is hands off and existing management / CEO is looking to stay in place, and they're interested in an independent sponsor buyout with an operator (me in this case) joining and working with the CEO.

Does anyone have experience in these sorts of transactions that they're willing to share? I'm a self-funded searcher that formed a relationship with management circumstantially. I'm also looking at investors who could support the buyout and would love to talk with any interested parties.

Be cautious regarding the hands off. Gauge the amount of time that this management team has been in place and what their performance has been. I’ve seen some really poor performing teams that were basically running off the steam created from a recently departed owner.

We have both a consulting business and a boutique investment bank - across the two we have developed relationships with a variety of equity funding sponsors. Happy to connect and share my experience - send me a DM.
