Entity Formation Structure with Multiple Investments

I am working through multiple investment opportunities that came to me while searching for an acquisition. I do intend to acquire a business, but do not want to pass up these opportunities.

What entity structure have people used for combining the following:

1. Receiving investor funds
2. Investing in multiple entities either via debt or equity
3. Acquiring another business later down the road

I am looking for the most tax-advantageous route seeing that I will keep my W2 until I acquire a business.

Open to all discussions and options, including multiple entities as opposed to own.
