What automated systems / tips / tricks are you employing with off market campaigns to stay out of spam? We have considered integrating our own SMTP servers in order to increase outbound volume. Using automated warmers weeks in advance of mailing campaigns to warm inboxes.

We are also aware of the spam basics - e.g. Gmail/etc. sending limits, email formatting, etc. Looking for any guidance outside of the basics

Simple but sometimes overlooked - make sure your DKIM and SPF records are formatted correctly. You can send a test email to https://www.mail-tester.com/ to see if you have any errors.

You can also look into rotating between Sendgrid accounts and subdomains for fault tolerance.
