Does anyone have any experience working with Generational Equity? I have seen a couple of listings I have been interested in, but have gotten some very mixed results. One associate told me they prefer to work with VCs/ PE firms and don't like working with searchers and a handful of times I have gotten no response after completing their NDA. Wondering if it is just me.

^redacted‌, I haven't heard of any success stories, but I have come in after a client was engaged with them and cleaned up the mess and restored the seller's confidence in the brokerage industry. The concerns from their former clients were 1) hefty up-front fees, $40K, and then little effort made to sell the business, and 2) multiple calls to their office staff regarding the sale of the business when the staff was not aware. This disclosure cost the business several key employees who left once they knew the business was for sale. My impression is they are after the up-front fee and whatever happens afterward is of far less concern.

I’ve seen many of the same mixed reviews. In my experience, working with firms like Generational Equity really comes down to which affiliate and individual broker you get. Some operate with integrity and real process; others feel more like a listing mill chasing retainers. The key that I have found is doing some diligence and you really shouldnt have any cost associated to work with them unless you are having them sell your business If you want more insight or need help with some sourcing of deals then shoot me a message and reference the post and we can discuss things further
