I'm currently evaluating a commercial cleaning business with a focus on office cleaning. Office cleaning accounts for the vast majority of this company's revenues.

Looking for some thoughts from those who have experience in this space. Should I be concerned about the future prospects of this business given uncertainties around the post-COVID workplace (more remote working leading to office space reduction, etc)?

- 100+ years ago, when Sears catalog came out, prices for brick/mortar buildings tanked badly. Now a New Yorker get products fron CA w/o living home. No need to go to department stores.
- With the advent of computers people thought humans will not be needed.
- When Lotus (before Excel) came, prediction was accounting profession will be wiped out.
It is hard to imagine demand for cleaning disappearing in long-term. Office sector will see some short-term impact.

I think it depends on your goals. For me, I tend to avoid commercial cleaning when thinking about your long-term wealth and prosperity plan. For some, it's a great industry. However, the workforce and other factors can make it difficult business model to scale to the point of passive investment.I have experience owning them but I think there are better foundational businesses out there in my view.
