Buy Side Brokers - Anyone Have Experience???

I've had a few sell side brokerages pitch me buy side services that amount to something like a 5-10k retainer along with a 5-7% success fee. There seems to be a lot of potential for conflicts of interest not to mention the staggering cost on even modest acquisitions. Are these guys just trying to scoop both ends in a hot market? Are normal buyers retaining services like this?

What is included in the service? Do they guarantee proprietary deal flow? If so, it could be a way to turbo charge your outreach and speed up time to finding the deal.



I am contemplating an arrangement with buyside representation to generate off market leads. In my case, I am keeping my day job and the math works to outsource. Of course, there are trade offs to not doing all of your own outreach…
