Hello,

I was curious if anyone was aware of a situation where someone pursed search via an apprenticeship model. An Apprenticeship model being an experienced searcher taking a budding searcher on in their deal process or in one of their portfolio companies in a role to grow and gain more experience for that new searcher to launch their own search. If anyone knows of anyone that has chartered a similar path I would love to connect to better understand how they structured that relationship and what were the pain points and frictions of that model.

Thanks,

Hi John! Supporting my CMU fellow here! There are some paid mentoring / advising services out there but in a perfect world, this apprenticeship model would be awesome. But I don't see how this is very different from working for someone at a PE shop / Searchfund first before launching one's own SF?

Not quite apprenticeships but check out the EIR/Fellow/Bootcamp/Scout programs at places like 365 Holdings, Pursuant Capital, NextGen Growth Partners, Majority Search, Several Ventures, Compounding Labs, Brydon Group, Enduring Ventures, and Activus Capital.
