Any US investors have experience investing in a Canadian deal?

I am currently looking at a couple of imminent opportunities to invest in searcher's deals in Canada. I would love to connect with investors who have deployed capital in Canadian based search deals to understand any regulatory, and tax filing requirements. Does this require more admin or have higher associated costs? Are there more tax payments vs. a US based investment?
