I dont anticipate getting any open responses on this post, but I would really appreciate if anyone that failed to acquire would be willing to share their experience and any advice. For privacy's sake, please fee free to dm me and in case it wasn't implied, I commit to complete confidentiality. I will even sign a NDA if required. Thank you.

^redacted‌ - It's so important to know the good, the bad and the ugly about searching that I hope some folks did contact you via DM (especially after you offered to sign an NDA). In the meantime, you may find Jim Sharpe's blog posts of interest, especially When to Stop Searching (http://jimsteinsharpe.com/searching/when-to-stop-searching/) and Life After Winding Down Search (http://jimsteinsharpe.com/searching/life-after-search/)

^redacted‌ & ^redacted‌, I unfortunately haven't had the opportunity to connect with anyone on this subject. On a platform comprised of very talented individuals, I didn't expect to get a lot of responses acknowledging and willing to discuss a "failure." I don't blame them either, I would be hesitant myself to discuss such a sensitive topic with someone I've never met. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend ^redacted‌'s links to Jim Stein's blog posts above if you haven't read them yet. They were very helpful.
