Advice on recruiting interns.

Any advise on the best sources to recruit interns as part of a cross border distributed team? Also any methods on how they can be compensated as a distributed team member? Furthermore does anyone have experience with distributed teams and interns, from a management perspective and would you recommend it? (To be used for cold calling, emailing, web scraping etc.)
