Would love feedback from searchers on something I’ve been building
I’ve spent several years working in and around search funds, including at Search Fund Accelerator and a traditional search fund, with much of that work focused on sourcing and screening potential acquisition targets. One thing I kept coming back to was how much work sits between: “I want to look at [niche] in [market]” and actually having a useful universe of companies to review. So I built Sloane (sloane.io). You give it a niche and the geographies you care about. Sloane searches the open web, visits the company websites it finds, researches what each business actually does, and scores every company against the search with a written rationale. From there, you can review the results, keep the companies that belong in your universe, and enrich them with the owner / CEO / president, LinkedIn, and work email. I’ve gotten it to the point where I’d really like to show it to other searchers and hear what they think. If this is a workflow you spend time on, I’d be happy to walk you through Sloane and show you a real output. Feel free to comment here, send me a message, or email me at redacted You can also book a 20-minute walkthrough at sloane.io. Thank you!
