Would interning at a search fund be a good idea before I start my own?

as @Joshua mentioned - that has been proposed to me as a good option. I have also been told that working with an investor in small businesses is also useful - as you understand the investor perspective. I have had some conversations with successful searchers who are now operating - given my business ops background in smaller firms with no infrastructure : I found to to be very similar to my past experience. Actually the ownership mentality was very motivating. But from a true learning perspective as a fresh MBA, working with an investor makes most sense!

Great question Jalen. I was wondering the same thing, specifically for a summer MBA internship. I’ve heard it’s best to shadow a current small business owner, to work for a firm that invests in small companies, or to try something totally different. I’d be interested to hear recommendations from those with some experience with ETA.
