Who is utilizing board members/advisors to sharpen their thesis? I talk with many SearchFunders who are convinced that their ideas don’t need to be sharpened, Is this accurate?

I speak with execs every week who simply love adding value and they are actually very reasonable and most are easy to work with.

I'm networking with specific board networks to be in a position to, hopefully, have some leads on strong board members outside my investors once I acquire a firm. I will assess what skills I need in the board after the investors have decided whether they wish to sit on the board or not, and then seek to find the right persons to fill the gaps. I believe the value board members can give is substantial but it is not necessarily easy finding quality ones. I'm sure it will be tempting to fill any vacant board seats with some pal of mine but I will resist that temptation and select based on what skills the business needs. Well, so I hope to anyway.

In my case, I'm trying to build the captable to maximize mentorship and guidance to add value post acquisition and during search.
Happy to discuss further.
