I am still relatively new to the search fund space and I am looking to connect with investors (and searchers) as I draft my PPM. What institutions are considered the "Big investors" in this space and what are the best means to get in front of them?

I think it depends if you are looking for a traditional search fund or a self-funded search fund, in terms of who populates the list. Traditional search fund investors -- particularly for the US -- can be found in several previous Searchfunder posts and/or at any of the big academic conferences. Harvard and Kellogg-Booth are having theirs in October/November this year, I think, so maybe attend those to meet the big players in-person. On the self-funded side, the investor base is much more distributed and I would recommend establishing a thesis and anticipated structure before reaching out to investors. Because these are more deal-dependent, it can be difficult to establish a syndicate prior to being on the path to an LOI.

Thanks for the tag ^redacted‌. Pursuant put together an investor list. It's by no means comprehensive but I think it'll give you a feel. It has detail on check size. There's probably 40 large check writers ($400k+). https://pursuantcapital-my.sharepoint.com/:x:/p/sam/EfZd_YCWJWZLm4H_neigfTIBPWnalLAYhvtXGhs0zz52ng?rtime=HuS1dpql3Eg
