Hi folks.
I have analyzed some public M&A transaction data and different websites that specifically report on Canadian SMBs to land on reliable multiples of EBITDA to share with my Owner/Operator clients so they can more accurately value their business prior to any diligence with a potential buyer.

What resources / databases do you rely on to land on reasonable multiples of SMBs (specifically ones for sale in Canada)?

Merci beaucoup.
Steph

There is a good book "2024 Business Reference Guide". While it has mainly focuses on US businesses, it is a good resource for determining a rough valuation. I personally wouldn't use public company metrics. The higher the multiple the more risk to the buyer as well.

Cannot speak to Canada specifically, but highly acquisitive public companies are a good place to start - filings, transcripts, IR call
