I'm looking to hire someone to be with me on day-one on a manufacturing company I hope to enter into LOI this week. When is the right time to hire?

If you don't have a signed LOI, it seems premature. If manufacturing is your focus, always be interviewing so that when you have something locked in, you have a shortlist of folks you can tap who are primed.

Depending on the role you're looking to fill, the clock started the moment you signed the LOI. From job description to offer accepted to start date, plan for 4–6 months on a senior hire done right... which means you need someone in the seat before that person exists. What does the existing leadership team look like?
