What Adam said, and make sure you can talk to a handful of clients who have been using their services for over a year! (The tricks that get you to the top of the search results quickest also get you sand-boxed after 6mo or so, and then you're doomed, contract or not!)

Adams feedback is dead on. Digital marketing moves lightning fast, so make sure the services offered, employee/contractors expertise and company assets and processes are flexible and adaptable or campaigns/clients will evaporate faster than you could imagine.
