Have broadly heard about about potential oversaturation. Keen to hear experiences of those raising right now and those of consultants and investors

As someone raising a UK fund my experience is that: - There are plenty of businesses and suitable deals. Plus some useful tools emerging for UK sourcing. The market is not saturated with searchers. - However, there are only few regular, well-known traditional search Investors in the UK. This limits the ability bring in overseas capital which will always want to see some local representation. (That said, there are some great UK investors out there!) - I would be nervous about restricting to London as you're limiting the population but also missing out on some whole sectors. You'd need an industry thesis that really fits London. As you say, some investor conversations will provide the best guidance as you begin raising.

Plenty of traditional searchers are raising at the moment so doesn’t seem to be too much of an oversaturation issue. Most are looking at UK wide opportunities rather than just London though. Restricting yourself there will probably make things more difficult
