It's a numbers game. Every failed attempt/incompatible company is a step closer to finding the right one. According to Stanford, overredactedsearch funds typically identifiedredactedtargets each, approached about 26 of them, and had serious discussions with just 2-4. Keep hacking at it!

It can help to give yourself points daily for different achievements. I have seen this done with success in job searches, which are similar. You can give yourself points for reviewing postings, researching an industry, issuing an LOI, meeting with a potential referral source, etc. all the way up to closing. There can be non-search related activities too. I suggest exercise as one. Some people put prayer, religious study or reading a newspaper/magazine/book. Bigger accomplishments get more points. Tally your points on a weekly basis and compete against yourself. Gives you a sense of accomplishment.
