I’m evaluating an "AI platform" in the lead generation space with minimal customer traction and no inbound — so, limited commercial growth. However, the development is rock-solid, with no ongoing support costs, and would take a decent tech team 6-12 months and about $500K-$750k to replicate.

Here’s the scenario:

My two cents: the AI landscape is still wide open with the big boys like Open AI, Google, Anthropic, etc. jockeying for leadership position so narrowing to an LLM platform becomes daunting. A code base developed on an LLM agnostic development platform may have some value but I can bet you that all the major lead-gen platforms have significant AI developments underway. I think a more niche focus using a specialized language model (SLM) may be more marketable and easily scaled to the particular application. I think it may be more valuable in the long run once a “catalog” of SLMs is developed. Thanks for the tag ^redacted

I agree with ^redacted‌ and ^redacted‌ regarding valuation. How difficult would it be to replicate? Why is there minimal customer traction and no inbound? How do you know there's product-market fit? What does the competitive landscape look like? How unique is the team? It's really difficult to answer your question without more information.
