What software is missing in ETA/VC or PE?

Dear network, I'm in an unique position where I have favorable conditions to build a new software business from scratch. Due to personal experience, network and influx of EU subsidies in Poland I see a relatively cheap path to building a new software company.

Because I'm actively interested in ETA, VC and PE topics, I am evaluating potential product concepts that would help me move from startups and software venture building into ETA/PE/transactions - first as a solution provider, then as a participant.

Questions

- In your operations, do you see a gap that could be solved by software? Is there something that always sucks?

- Do you wish you had a software solution that fits your particular niche better?

- Do you see generic solutions that could be adapted to this field?

- Overall trends you see & wild speculations?

* ie. AI-based discovery has been a strong trend in direct marketing, and the same mechanism is being applied to build lead sourcing automation

* ie. signal sourcing - plenty of providers our there scanning for indirect signals that indicate changes in company health




Caveats

- I assume that most software already exists, or has been built for VCs - ie. www.vcstack.io

- I have one concept already in mind (for VCs specifically), but would rather have a broad discussion

- Ideally, I'm looking to build a B2B SaaS could be used in ETA, VC & PE that's quick to market and relatively cheap for end users (quick traction, low sales overheads)
