I'm looking to assist a family member in selling their financial advisor/boutique investment bank business in Canada within the next year. I'm exploring the option of selling to a search fund. In preparing the business for sale, what tips can you provide that help make a target extremely attractive?

Clean financials, clear communication, realistic (market) valuation, easy to understand "why" selling the business. Bonus, having the seller be at retirement age.
