We did something very difficult yesterday, we admitted failure publicly. My hope is that I can share my failures and successes to help others avoid mistakes and/or understand the real experience of executing a deal. Here is the Twitter thread: https://twitter.com/jarrydosborne/status/1444697270511828995. It was a deal that we had been working on for many months which ultimately died a couple of weeks before the closing date. The overwhelming support I received was amazing. Thank you to everyone who commented, reached out, and provided encouragement. On to the next deal, we go!!

It may not be consolation to you, but what you report is a common story (and outcome). I’m wondering why your advisory team didn’t better-prepare you for the typical speedbumps you experienced.

Time is money, which means working undoable deals causes searchers to suffer lost income opportunity.

The good news, for you, is your hard knocks schooling is making you upstage being discriminate.
And, you probably will do what it takes to better-qualify “sellers” and potential lenders, which may expedite the dealmaking process.

I feel your pain; I see it every month among the searchers I follow.
Best wishes!!!

Just read the post on Twitter. I can't imagine the emotional turbulence this put you through, but it does sound like a fantastic learning opportunity (I definitely learned from your experience). I'm inspired by your resilient and positive attitude--all the best as you continue the journey.
