^[redacted] - I spoke with ^[redacted] last week at the recommendation of ^[redacted]. Will has a pretty comprehensive Healthcare data set around valuations and deal comps. We had a constructive conversation and are in the very early stages of exploring a partnership. Barry can probably provide more context.

Will's company is Scope Research. Their transaction database tracks healthcare services transactions where reliable price to revenue and/or EBITDA multiples are announced publicly. They categorize each one by broad segment (e.g. professional practices) as well as the more narrow "type" (e.g. physician practices: dermatology). Since they specialize in healthcare, they don't limit their data sources to SEC filings and press releases. They also review bond market research, public audits, CON filings, cost reports, and AG reports to find purchase prices and multiples. In addition to annual subscriptions for the entire database, they sell reports for individual segments (e.g. ASCs, behavioral health, CRO/CDMO).
I'm not currently a subscriber but plan to get a segment report the next time I'm valuing a company in one of the segments they track.

https://www.franklintrustratings.com/franklin-bi/ --doesn't have M&A or deal info but great pure-play health data. Basically a BI platform that pulls and synthesizes data from CMS and other public repositories. Worked with them a lot in consulting at Alvarez & Marsal.

It depends on what data sets your looking for. For Rx trends, Walter Klower may track various drug prescribing trends.

Definitive healthcare (https://www.definitivehc.com/) has a lot of good provider related data however it may be on the more expensive side. Couldn't hurt to ask for a quote and see what they come back with.

Definitive is a very comprehensive dataset for provider organization related data. If you're looking for anonymized claim or remit (professional/institutional) data, I'm happy to facilitate an intro to Waystar, large clearinghouse, data sales team.

Are you looking for free data sources or paid? CMS has a lot of data free to download. NPPES is the source for anyone servicing CMS patients. Claims data and more HCP detailed data are typically paid. MedPro, MMIT, or Fingertip Formularly have interesting data sets some you can access for free if you give them an email address.

Thank you, all - quite helpful. To clarify, I'm looking mainly for free data sources. Specifically would be interested in any sources for patient/claims data - mainly along the lines of what ^[redacted] has mentioned. I've come across company's like Komodo, which offer aggregated data from CMS + clearinghouses, but they typically charge a fair bit to access it. Has anyone gone through the application process to get more detailed CMS data?

3rd party data providers are going to be very expensive (e.g. IQVIA and Symphony). So I would probably recommend government datasets. Check out Sunshine Reporting, doesn't look like that was mentioned yet.
