Why do solo search funder websites use the royal "we" on their website?

It seems silly given that it's clear it's the fund is a single individual. However, the practice seems widespread. Is this just to add credibility or give the impression of a bigger org? Or is the "we" used to represent the search funder and their investors? Am I missing something?

LOL. Not smart to exaggerate. Excerpt from my recent Searchfunder event:

How do brokers and sellers view self-funded buyers versus search funds? It’s all about the money. Whoever shows it first gets the advantage. There aren’t too many brokers and sellers wanting to go through due diligence at least twice, which is what happens for most search funds who let the searcher handle the first round of diligence, and then the investors want it done again for themselves.

Self-funders can have huge advantages, if they properly deploy at the right times the right kinds of advisors.

I'm a solo self funded searcher, and I always refer to 'we'.

I do this to represent the group that will eventually purchase the target co. I've got a cohort of investors that I anticipate will invest in what I eventually acquire, and I wouldn't make major decisions without seeking guidance from them. So I feel quite comfortable referring to us collectively.

I've only been questioned on it once by a seller, and they seemed comfortable with the concept that 'we' referred to myself and the syndicate of investors I work with.
