US Dept of Agriculture Loans

I am trying to buy a farm and I was wondering if anyone has any experience dealing with the US department of agriculture.  They seem to be very slow reviewing our financials and our business plan and was wondering if that is normal.  They also mentioned something about an environmental study.  Would be grateful for speak with anyone who has already gone through this.  God bless, Michele
