Hi all,

We have noticed a big drop off in cold email deliverability and response rates over the past 1-2 months. After digging in, it appears to be tied exclusively to recipients with Microsoft accounts. Based on what we are hearing, Microsoft has updated there filtering algorithm which is directing a lot more email to spam.

Is anyone else running into this, and if so, have you discovered any workarounds?

The only solution that I have heard of is establishing an Outlook###-###-#### account tied to a domain to help with that deliverability. But I think Microsoft/Outlook has always been the toughest on emails/email deliverability. p.s. - Also ensure you are not using your "core" domain, and have some alternate domain for your cold emails. That way you are not harming the sender reputation of your main/core domain. I have heard and seen organization "kill" their deliverability due to poor email marketing practices, to the point where customer email correspondence was being routed to junk/spam.

You need to have proper DNS configuration, warmup, and sending limits per domain. Gmail and Microsoft are still the top choices, just need to stay within their (unwritten) boundaries to avoid getting marked as spam. We handle all of this for our users on https://widereach.ai - feel free to book a demo to see if it's a good fit for your outreach goals.
