Have you implemented unlimited PTO? We are a manufacturer of woodworking programs for schools and camps so have a mix of salaried and hourly employees. We currently offer 10 days PTO plus holidays. I am particularly interested in policies created as well as mechanisms to measure team member goals so they can take time without negatively impacting the business.

We are aware of the classic pros (trust and culture) and cons (potential for abuse).

Thanks for your advice!

Cuts both ways. Some employees respect the policy some abuse it. After one employee took 6 months we revised policy to include language that required manager approval and/or no approval if conflicted with deliverables, team burden, company function or job performance. One benefit is no accrual to pay out on departure.

I worked in unlimited PTO before. It was great. But it requires employees that are very responsible and accountable. And you have to force some people to take time as some won’t take it at all
