What would you do if there two deals coming to the very advanced point of discussion and there is limits on the resources and time dedication you can make? Pause or deligate? Investors can back up only one.

Play the odds and push forward with both. One will most likely drop. If it gets to the 11th hour and neither have dropped, sell it to another searcher on this site or a buddy.

I walked away from my first deal late in the game due to fit, debt concerns, and an environmental issue. I told my buddy, and he “bought” it from me for the price of the DD I had put into it. He was thrilled to find one without searching, and I was happy to provide the seller (who I had become very close to) a buyer who was a far better fit for the needs of the business.

Every time I feel like I have too many deals at once, the not as exciting ones fade for a variety of reasons. Keep pushing forward and things will become more clear.

I like this advice, because it fits better with my personality. But I have worked with investors who do not like to see me chasing more than one deal at a time. The comment was “chase 2 rabbits catch none.” I would seek input from the investor who only wants to back one.
