I recently received two CIM's, the first was a tree trimming business and second was a commercial flooring installation businesses. If anyone has looked at either of these two types of businesses before, I would love to connect and share thoughts!

1. depending on where you are and the size of the trees you trim, it’s likely that you’ll need arborist licenses for the people doing/overseeing the work. This makes it challenging to find new staff and grow.
2. the equipment needs for tree trimming can be high. Bucket trucks, stump grinders, etc are all expensive. When modeling it out, I found the per crew investment to be higher than I had expected.
3. this is a very dangerous industry. I would look closely at the safety records of the business, training programs, wc mod rating, etc. Also keep in mind that because of this, insurance rates are high.
