Transition from Public Equity Investing

I have spent over 20 years investing in small-cap growth equities as a portfolio manager and research analyst. The stock market has become more driven by game theory than investing in underlying businesses. I would appreciate any perspectives or advice on transitioning into the private market/ETA space.
