I've been trying to look for tools for searching. Curious what folks are using? I came across an interesting one called CorpDev.ai.

One of the challenges is deciding which part of the process you want to apply AI. Ideally you'd want a full end-end tool, but once you start digging into what's required for that, you realise it's a big job.

1. Sourcing: is it collecting data for off-market opportunities or just reviewing broker listings. The latter is much easier to implement, but equally doesn't add as much value.
2. Approach - for off-market deals, the tool should collect data on the business, key individuals and their contact details. It should also create a customised email to initiate contact and handle replies (file rejections & flag warm leads for follow-up).
3. Deal analysis - is it useful just to summarize high level accounts or does it need to be able to work through all the detailed info that you get as part of proper DD.
4. Deal structuring - for this component you'd want it to be able to analyse key aspects related to customers concentration, staff risk, industry comparables, etc to offer well-reasoned suggestions on deal terms.

I have built some elements for my own search, but they're not really in a format that could be shared. I'd like to build-out to a fully fledged tool that can be offered as a service, but will take a while to get to a suitable level.

I've not looked at corpdev.ai, but have seen https://www.wokelo.ai/ mentioned in this space. Looks like corpdev starts at $12k and Wokelo doesn't list pricing but they told me in an email it starts at $18k. If you have a ChatGPT pro plan there's a custom GPT called https://chatgpt.com/g/g-HYBL3ZVuA-copilot-investment-banker-gpt; from looking at the conversation.json exports that one has modified prompts based on various textbooks and using context from web searches for particular questions. A ChatGPT pro subscription starts is $20/month, and would probably be a good first pass for basic research if you're looking to keep costs down. If you've already identified a niche, I image for the cost of corpdev or wokelo you could likely hire someone to build you a custom model better tailored to your specific criteria. Essentially everything in this space is using one of the handful of high quality foundational models under the hood.
