Hey guys! I am an undergraduate student at the University of Tennessee. My goal is to break into some area of private equity whether that be through working for a search fund or a traditional PE fund. Coming from a non- target school it has been pretty difficult finding opportunities to learn the basic skills needed to be successful in this field. I would appreciate any tips on specific skills to learn, internship advice, or really anything at all!

Your job will be to find and analyze deals and industries. So the best thing you can do is choose an industry or two to focus on and do your own work, develop a preliminary thesis. This will make you immediately valuable for a fund looking for interns.
