I was wondering if many have you have had success with hiring a managing partner for a business? Myself and a couple of investors are looking to acquire some various small businesses on the north side of Houston (specifically targeting liquor stores right now). We are all W2 employees with families and are looking for support in the acquisition and managing of the businesses. We would also consider having this person build another business from the ground up (as opposed to acquisition). I also run a small oil company as a side hustle that I'd be happy to pass some responsibilities off.

What do you think is the best way to find the right person? I have heard people have success finding through Searchfunder itself. I am considering reaching out to some colleges with entrepreneurship programs and asking for recommendations from the staff.
What would you recommend for compensation? My initial thoughts are targeting a ~$75k/yr base salary with 10% profit share, but I'm completely open to ideas. This is mainly based on some research saying starting business degrees are ~$65k.

I am very appreciative of this community and I look forward to any and all feedback!

I just found this post and am in a similar situation, looking to do the same. You are correct on salary and percentage of business.

That salary is a good starting point to bring a good manager also you can offer some type of bonus.
