Things to look out for in Heavy Construction company acquisition?

I'm looking into a business specializing in construction of wastewater treatment facilities. Any ideas on specific things I should be inquiring the seller about in regards to this industry or things I should be looking out for prior/post the LOI?

Not familiar with US accounting, but very unusual recognition of Work in Progress / upfront payment by customers killed one of my deals in Germany....
