So I've been noodling a little idea. Looking for some feedback from the group:

Background: I'm an experienced software engineer and consulting CTO. I've built teams from 2 to 200, ranging from startups to public companies. I've been part of dozens of M&A transactions / reviews and have helped review M&A activity for other companies and investors.

Pitch: Now that I run my own portfolio, I'm noticing a lot of searchers / buyers in the community struggle with due diligence / acquisition planning for SaaS purchases. Would a tech and product due diligence service be attractive to people?

Execution could vary from pre-LOI review to actually helping close & transfer post-transaction. Possible additions would be planning out post-close next steps / roadmap as well.

Thoughts?

There's a genuine need out there for specialized tech and product due diligence. I’d like to see an ‘as-a-service’ component in you post-transaction services to make it a recurring revenue model. Would love to chat about this.

Short answer, 100%!

The lack of tech knowledge dissuades a lot of searchers even though they love the profile. This is the gap I feel you could step in and fill with a service like this
