With the growing emphasis on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria, how do you incorporate sustainability into your investment strategies, and what metrics or frameworks do you use to measure the impact of your investments?

I find ESG to be an easy win in terms of value creation strategy as many tradtional business sellers do not have formal processes in place. A simple actionable strategy to implement ESG initiaives can add a lot of value. Will be following this convo for best practices to measure ROI in this arena.

PCAF (redacted is considered the global and gold standard framework for financed emissions (which covers investment portfolios). This is typically adopted by larger financial institutions that are exposed to mandatory compliance reporting. This is a good point of reference to start with. Ultimately you may want to set yourself an acceptable threshold / tolerance against certain E, S and G factors, using peer benchmarks and industry data will help shape which ones matter more than others, then track performance against these tolerances over time.
