Internship - Summer Investment Associate Pamoja Growth Partners (“PGP”) is a Canadian search fund looking to acquire a small or medium-sized B2B software company in Canada. The Managing Partner of this fund is Alexandra MacBain, who will step in as CEO following the acquisition. PGP is an affiliate of Pamoja Capital, a family office, founded in 2006 by John McCall MacBain following the sale of Trader Classified Media. The Role We’re looking for a paid research intern to play a critical role in identifying promising businesses for acquisition. This is an invaluable opportunity to gain real-world experience, develop business acumen, and cultivate a nuanced understanding of the investment process. You will also be able to learn more about private equity, deal sourcing and market research. You can expect limited interaction with Alexandra during the course of your internship as she will be on maternity leave. Alexandra will offer you a search fund primer at the beginning of your internship and feedback at the end. Alexandra is invested in the continued success of her interns and will provide mentorship following your internship. As an intern at PGP, you will: conduct research and build a list of target vertical software companies in Canada. conduct market research and industry analysis. build outreach campaigns. support Alexandra in managing the day-to-day activities of the fund. About you You are entrepreneurial, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly autonomous. You have strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize large amounts of data. You have excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. French is a plus. Experience in private equity, venture capital or investment banking is a plus. Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a law degree, an MBA or another Master's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
