Entrepreneurship as a career is often framed as a choice between freedom and stability. Starting a business is widely understood to be far riskier than working for one, carrying considerable costs and few guarantees for the business owner.

As many as 95% of small businesses fail in their first five years, but the inverse is true of businesses that are purchased: less than 5% fail over that same period.

In other words, owning your own business isn’t always as risky as you might think. Everyone within this community is here because of that reason.

We surveyed over 560 business buyers to understand how successful businesses are after being acquired.
